Event Overview

A safe and inspiring children’s programme named in memory of Shaheed Abdul Ahad. Through painting, storytelling and family engagement, young participants will explore courage, empathy, love for Bangladesh, justice and the hopeful spirit of July in an age-appropriate environment.

Painting competition

Age- or class-based on-site competition using an announced theme and official drawing paper.

Child Martyrs Remembrance Corner

Short, carefully curated audio-visual stories presented in a sensitive and age-appropriate manner.

Family engagement

Parents and guardians can join a guided space for reflection, values-based conversation and responsible remembrance.

Creative Display Wall

Completed artwork may be displayed at the venue and in the official digital gallery.

Supervised Kids Zone

Organised waiting, creative activities and child-safety support under designated volunteers.

Category-wise prizes

Awards, participation certificates and selected gifts or art materials.

Purpose & Strategic Objectives

The programme encourages children to express national values through creativity while ensuring that remembrance is positive, sensitive and suitable for their age.

Introduce themes of empathy, service, justice, courage and national unity without exposing children to distressing content.
Engage parents and guardians in safe, meaningful family conversation.
Identify and celebrate young artistic talent across age or class categories.
Preserve selected artwork as part of the July Exhibition, souvenir or digital archive.

Eligibility & How to Participate

Proposed categories may group participants by age or class and will be confirmed in the registration notice. A parent or legal guardian must complete registration, provide consent and accompany the child according to venue rules.

Register the child for ৳99 using the child's name, age, class, institution and guardian contact information.
Review the confirmation message for the approved category, reporting time and permitted art materials.
Bring colours, pencils, eraser and a drawing board; official paper will be supplied where applicable.
Report minimum 30 min prior with the guardian for verification, seat allocation and the participant briefing.

Entry requirements

The entry must be completed on-site and must be the child’s own work. Guardians may assist with logistics but may not draw, colour or direct the composition. All content must be respectful, original, age-appropriate and related to the announced theme.

The on-site painting competition itself runs on 3 August 2026, 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM at the Shaheed Abu Sayed International Convention Centre, Shahbagh, Dhaka — ahead of the main celebration day (9 August).

Categories & themes

Group A — up to Class 5 (Primary): Amar Sonar Bangla (আমার সোনার বাংলা)
Group B — Class 6 to SSC (Secondary): Insaf er Bangla (Beautiful Bangladesh)
Group C — HSC to Undergraduate / Medical Students: July Movement & Bangladesh (জুলাই চেতনা ও বাংলাদেশ)

Competition rules

Art medium: open (watercolor, pastel, oil, acrylic).
Size: 36 × 18 inch (portrait) — paper supplied by organizers.
Participants must bring their own colors and backing board.
On-site completion only (3-hour window).

Verification of age or class, guardian information, consent and assigned competition category.

Participant briefing

Simple explanation of the theme, rules, time limit, paper size etc.

On-site painting

Independent drawing and colouring within the announced time under supervised conditions.

Audio-visual story corner

Short life stories and values-based remembrance of child martyrs, prepared for family audiences.

Artwork display

Selected entries displayed with the child's name, age/class and institution, subject to guardian consent.

Prize & certificate segment

Category-wise winner announcement and acknowledgement of eligible participants.

Rules, Ethics & Code of Conduct

Registration by ৳99 and places are limited by child-safety capacity.
The participant must remain within the assigned category and seat during the competition.
No tracing, pre-drawn outlines, printed templates or electronic assistance will be allowed unless specifically announced for an inclusive-access category.
Guardians must follow access, photography and child-protection instructions.
The judging panel's decision will be final after age/category verification.

Per group — top 10:

1st: ৳5,000
2nd: ৳4,000
3rd: ৳3,000
4th: ৳2,000
5th: ৳1,000
6th – 10th: Honorary crest

All top 10 receive certificates.

Schedule, Access & Participant Support

A designated guardian waiting area and child-friendly registration process will be arranged.
Basic first aid, drinking water and supervised volunteer support will be available.
The final theme, category structure, duration and material list will be announced on the registration portal.
Parents should inform organisers in advance about accessibility, communication or special support needs.

Important notice

The child’s safety, dignity and wellbeing take priority over competition. Final age categories, prize values, display permissions and schedule remain subject to approval by the Kids Fest Committee.
